Instructional Designer
Job Description
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the effective analysis of training needs and the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training programs that drive measurable performance improvement. The Instructional Designer role requires strong creative, analysis, and relationship building skills. They will work closely with SMEs and stakeholders to understand their needs, propose solutions, and develop customized training programs.
Key Accountabilities
Instructional Systems Design – Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation
Assess, design, develop, and evaluate learning solutions to support Team Member, Manager, and Restaurant Support Center (RSC) development.
- Determine learning and material requirements for L&D projects
- Leverage training time, people, and costs by identifying the most effective learning methods to support core programs and organizational initiatives
- Develop and implement style guide and design document standards to ensure consistency across projects
- Increase resource efficiency through the development of learning content that is easy to update, manage, and customize
- Produce effective instructional content that integrates into the overall training system for TM, Manager, or RSC training
- Evaluate training programs and materials to ensure learner and business needs are met
- Research and implement e-learning tools and best practices to maximize training effectiveness
- Work within, and when necessary, support the administration of the Learning Management System (LMS)
Project Management
Manage the L&D project deliverables and timelines to achieve goals, objectives, and quality expectations.
- Partner with L&D and other department Team Members to identify, develop, and execute programs that meet project goals and learning objectives
- Develop and maintain project plans to communicate progress and actions required to meet deliverable expectations
- Utilize project management technology to provide visibility to project progress and support the work of others on the team
Multimedia/Graphic Design /Desktop Publishing
Develop and produce multimedia elements to support e-learning, print and blended learning solutions.
- Assess training material and program needs to create visual image packaging to support end-user needs
- Develop multimedia elements to support e-learning content (graphics, video, audio, etc.)
- Produce scripts to support video content creation
- Work with other members of the team to support pre-production, filming/recording, and postproduction of multi-media training content as needed
Job Requirements
Someone who is successful in this position will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Behavioral Sciences, Instructional Design, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology preferred. Combination of education and equivalent work experience considered
- 3-5 years’ experience in developing instructional materials and developing blended and e-learning solutions in a corporate environment
- A strong background in blended and distance learning
- Experience with tools such as Articulate Storyline, Canva, Vimeo, Monday.com etc.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
- Expertise with Microsoft Office products. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; has the ability to plan, meet deadlines, and manage competing priorities
- Ability to effectively build and manage processes, tools, and systems
- Ability to translate ideas into clear written and visual materials/communication
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills, bilingual (Spanish) preferred
- Experience in the food service or restaurant industry a nice to have
- Strong attention to detail

- Experience with Learning Management Systems
- Remote candidates considered; candidates in the Denver, CO metro area preferred. While this position can be remote/hybrid, periodic travel to local restaurants and our Restaurant Support Center in Denver will be required.
