Position Summary

The Organizational Development Manager plans, develops, implements and administers development and training programs at Sonesta. The manager also acts as liaison and advisor to the organization's leadership and facilitates initiatives across the organization to help achieve career growth for all Sonesta employees.

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:

·         Directs the needs assessment for training and staff development to enhance the effectiveness of employee performance in achieving the goals and objectives of the company.

·         Identifies and incorporates best practices and lessons learned into program plans.

·         Analyzes employee engagement data, devises solutions, and follows-up on actions to improve the employee experience.

·         Develops career paths for hotel and corporate office leaders.

·         Makes assessments of effectiveness of developmental training in terms of employee accomplishments and performance.

·         Consults with management on performance, organizational and leadership matters. Conducts needs assessments to determine measures required to enhance employee job performance and overall company performance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in training and development or organizational development preferred
  • Three years of training experience, and at least three years of management experience.

·         Experience designing and implementing effective training and development programs & mentoring programs.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Proven effective management skills.

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

·         Strong presentation skills.

·         Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.

·         Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.



·         CPLP credential, preferred.

  •    SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential, preferred.

·         Predictive Index (PI) Practitioner credential, preferred.
