Learning Technology Specialist

Job Description

The Learning Technologies Specialist is responsible for the utilization and maintenance of the Learning Management Platforms and for researching, developing and supporting the implementation of e-learning as a methodology at Buffalo Wild Wings. This position participates in special projects involving learning and development, technology, and media as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Technology Support:

  • Act as an LMS support admin for both company and franchise sports bars
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic user issues, manage assignments, and update learning assets and programs in conjunction with training needs of the organization.
  • Communicate and respond to all LMS inquires within a timely manner
  • Ensure functionality of the LMS in areas of notification and administration of training operations and assessments
  • Work closely with learning team to ensure training is available and able to be completed as required
  • Ensure an efficient enrollment process of new team members (company) into the LMS thru integrated data feeds
  • Clearly communicate with internal and external stakeholders impacts to and from the LMS
  • Responsible for setting up, running and maintaining LMS reports
  • Understand and assess impact of new processes and systems integrations and timelines for the LMS
  • Explore and recommend opportunities to improve the LMS performance across the organization
  • Be able to effectively document all process changes and procedures related to LMS administration

 

Learning Support:

  • Creation of and improvement of job aids, resource guides, training documents, elearnings, quizzes, and workbooks using appropriate authoring tools
  • Assist with production panning, including scheduling, coordinating, needs analysis, and communication planning
  • Follow best practices of learning management administration
  • Serves as the business liaison with external vendors to ensure outsourced programs/products meet internal requirements and objectives


Job Requirements


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional work experience
  • Preferred Certification and/or training in e-learning and specialized subject matter(s)
  • Preferred Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP)
  • Basic understanding of graphic design, instructional design and eLearning development
  • Prior LMS administration experience
  • Experience in the hospitality and service industries

 

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS or ABILITIES

  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Identifies possible solutions to a variety of technical problems and takes actions to resolve
  • Effective time management
  • Customer-focused approach in attaining desired results
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced ability to create and manipulate Excel spreadsheets
  • Able to execute pre-defined processes from detailed written or verbal instructions and apply knowledge of the process for follow-up and troubleshooting
