the director of training and development will create and deliver dynamic, effective training to deliver on our promise of delivering exceptional food and service for each and every guest. the director learning and development will support internal strategies and oversee policies, procedures, processes, and programs in all aspects of talent and development including leadership and professional development, learning and development, employee engagement. He/she will partner cross-functionally with the support center team and operations to champion best practices and strategies to create top-quality talent. the director of training and development will play an integral role with culinary and operations in developing training for new product roll-outs and continuing education and skill development of associates at all levels of the company.
designs curriculum for learning and development programs based on business needs and goals • guides implementation of learning that reflects business best practices in ways that are creative, relevant, and straightforward • recommend new training methods • evaluate the results of training courses and workshops • deliver onsite and field training for ongoing development, managers in training, new restaurant openings, etc. • develops useful learning assessments/metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of learning and development programs aligned with desired business outcomes • oversee the execution of all training and certification programs for managers and hourly associates to ensure compliance of company standards, execution of training schedules and certification of training restaurants. • writing, updating, organizing, and delivering new training materials in accordance with the company mission, values, and culture. • responsible for identifying needs, aligning with appropriate stakeholders and developing, implementing, and evaluating training tools, workshops, and e-learning options • develops useful learning assessments/metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of learning and development programs aligned with desired business outcomes • develop metrics to enable robust evaluation strategies to measure learner outcomes, productivity & business impact of learning solutions. leverage data insights to drive, modify and create future learning offerings.
researching training tools, providing recommendations on various outside vendors, and assessing the effectiveness of programs specifically demonstrating ROI. • works with vendors and subject matter experts to deliver comprehensive learning solutions.
observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals and or managers • acts as the learning and development subject matter expert for the restaurants training + development director • leads strategies in partnership with the hr leadership and other leaders to assess needs and identify opportunities to build and implement appropriate learning and organizational development solutions that develop and engage our employees • be the relevant point of contact to give support and focus to key learning and development projects ensuring that best practice is shared and implemented • collaborates with operations leaders to analyze operational and developmental opportunities • builds and nurtures strong collaborative partnerships with all departments at the support office specifically including marketing, culinary and beverage department, and operations

- work out of restaurants as needed
- flexible travel schedule (days, nights, weekdays, weekends, holidays)
- bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- minimum of 5 years in training or learning and development
- strong interpersonal and organizational skills as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- superior presentation and facilitation skills.
- demonstrated knowledge in current learning & development techniques, practices, trends, and technology.
- restaurant or hospitality experience required
- college degree in a related field is preferred
- working knowledge of learning management systems
- must live in a major market around bartaco restaurants (NC, GA, FL, CT, VA, DC)
