Newly-Elected CHART Board Ready to Achieve Goals
The Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART, www.chart.org) announced the election of its new Executive Board at its’ 92nd semi-annual Hospitality Training Conference, held July 30 – August 2, 2016 in Charleston, SC.
The Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART, www.chart.org) announced the election of its new Executive Board at its’ 92nd semi-annual Hospitality Training Conference, held July 30 – August 2, 2016 in Charleston, SC.
The new Executive Board will be headed up by Donna Herbel, CHART President and Lead Director of Training and Development for Perkins & Marie Callender’s, LLC. A supporter of volunteerism, Donna has been an active CHART member since joining the organization in 2004.

Michele Lange, President-Elect
Michele is Director of Training and Development for The Habit Burger Grill. She has been an active CHART member since attending her first conference in 2007 and has served on the Board since 2012.
Cindy Bates, Board Member, Secretary and Professional Networking
Cindy Bates, PHR, CHT, is the Director of Training for The Common Man and has spent more than 23 years in various roles with the independent hospitality family in New Hampshire. This is her 2nd term serving on the CHART Board.
Gabe Hosler, Board Member, Education - San Diego Conference
Gabe’s first exposure to CHART was at one of our 2009 conferences and he has been strongly involved since then. He currently holds the position of Vice President, Training & Ops Services at Rubio's Restaurants, Inc.
Serah Morrissey, Board Member, Membership
Serah is a newly-elected member of the CHART Board. She works at The Westin Edina Galleria & The Sheraton Bloomington as their Complex Director of Human Resources. Serah has been involved with training at hotels and restaurants for the past 16 years and a member of CHART for 5 years.
Danielle West, Board Member, Education - Colorado Springs Conference
Danielle is the Senior Training Manager for The Broadmoor. She attended her first CHART conference in 2013 and has been giving back to the organization since then. This is her first term serving on the board.
Monique Donahue, Education Strategist
Monique is in her 2nd and final year of this appointed position. She has been an active member of CHART since 2003, serving in a number of capacities. A 20+ year veteran in the hospitality industry, she currently serves as the Director, eLearning for Hilton Grand Vacations.
Tara Davey, Executive Director
Tara is President of Eastwood Association Management and has been the Executive Director of CHART since 1998. Before joining CHART, she was a trusts and estates attorney working with several non-profit foundations.
This new Executive Board will continue to carry out the key strategies for CHART including strengthening strategic partnerships, expanding educational opportunities and managing membership growth. The Board also oversees CHART’s semi-annual hospitality training conferences which will be held March 4 – 7, 2017 in Colorado Springs, CO and July 15 – 18, 2017 in San Diego, CA.
