Book Synopsis/Why Recommended:A very entertaining recount of the story of the founding of Zappos. Tony Hsieh (Pronounced Shay) shares his personal growth as well and the growth of the company. The part that I found most interesting was the way he defined the values of the company. It wasn’t the ground-up, campfire, everybody hold hands and sing songs party that some would host, but rather him defining the values and sharing them with the rest of the group and allowing them to decide if they fit in that set of values.
Additionally in the days of social media and the internet – he sees their biggest advantage is the way an internet based company focuses on and relies so heavily on the telephone.
After taking the tour of the headquarters (after CHART # 82 Las Vegas – August 2011) it is clear that the values are lived every day
