CHART Conference Focuses On Professional Development Of Trainers

Westfield, NJ - For the first time, numerous half-day workshops devoted to in-depth skills development will be offered at the 64th semi-annual Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART) hospitality training conference, which will be held August 11-14, 2002 in Montreal, Canada at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth.

"Test this thing!! Two days of intense workshops allow participants to really dissect a topic and take home improved skills in that area," said Kathleen Taylor-Gadsby, President of CHART and Vice President of Human Resources, International and Emerging Brands, Carlson Restaurants Worldwide. "The unique experience of a CHART conference rests in idea and solution sharing. So the sessions are designed to be highly interactive, drawing upon the wealth of expertise brought to the sessions by its members."

The annual Commitment to People Awards Gala will be held the final evening of the conference, Tuesday, August 13, 2002. The event honors the recipient of the Commitment to People Award, which recognizes the head of an industry organization who has clearly and consistently demonstrated a commitment to the development of people. Widely-acclaimed speaker Herman Cain, FMP, will close the conference with a motivational session on The Power and Responsibility of Leadership.
