AHLAEI Scholarship

CHART and the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) present a $5,000 joint scholarship each year to a student that has graduated from the LMP (Lodging Management Program) Program and have chosen Hospitality as their major in college.  CHART/AHLAEF and a selection committee look to choose someone who is the epitome of the young people who are up and coming in the hospitality industry who are going to be great leaders someday.

The Lodging Management Program (LMP) provides teachers with everything needed to prepare their students to succeed in an industry that offers unlimited opportunities, including how to set up hospitality internships so they can apply what they learn.                                        

The Lodging Management Program (LMP) is a school-to-career program developed by the American Hotel and Lodging Association Educational Foundation (AH&LAEF).  LMP is designed to introduce juniors and seniors to careers in the hospitality industry.  Through classroom activities, internships and comprehensive exams, students have the chance to earn national certification.

The Award is presented at CHART's Commitment to People Awards Gala in August, the final evening of CHART's semi-annual hospitality training conference.

The CHART/AHLAEI scholarship was created in 2008.
