Creative Content and Learning Manager

Job Description

The Creative Content and Learning Manager will neeed to understand the culture, restaurant environment, and training process of the Habit, then convert this information into engaging, interactive, and effective learning solutions. This position is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the training, reference, and performance support materials. Learning solutions include FLAME Training LMS, webinars, videos, eLearning, and other performance support tools. This position will report to the Director of Learning and Development and will work with the Training Department to strategically create learning solutions for Operations. The position requires some local travel.

Job Requirements

Project Management

Use project management skills to deliver work on time and manage competing projects. Utilize the latest Instructional Systems Design techniques, including analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) to create cutting edge learning solutions. Primarily works independently and self-manages to complete projects, but also relies on teamwork and collaboration.

Design / Development

Collaborate with operations and other cross-functional teams and subject matter experts within The Habit to ensure training content is current, accurate, consistent, and aligned with company goals. Assist in the creation of creative and engaging learning solutions to include instructor led training, eLearning, job aids, and other relevant training materials. Write effective copy, instructional text, and audio and video scripts. Proficient in videography and photography including use of Adobe Creative Suite. Create and maintain eLearning courses using course authoring software. Create and maintain training guides, product knowledge guides, technology training guides, and other training resources using Adobe InDesign, MS work, and MS PowerPoint.

Continuous Improvement

Lead the continued improvement and maintenance of training curriculum based on evaluation data, field feedback, personal observation, and external best practices. Update and maintain databases of system-required training. Understand related fields—usability and experience design, information design, communications and new technologies to bring innovations and ideas that further enhance training deliverables and outcomes.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements

Demonstrated ability to successfully design, develop, and execute training/performance improvement projects; commitment to excellence and high standards. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously; executes initiatives on time. Excellent verbal/written communication skills including the ability to write concise, creative and effective instruction, especially for training. Ability to effectively partner and communicate with Operations and the Home Office with people at all levels and in all functions within the organization; proven ability to understand and respond to a diverse population. Bilingual in verbal/written Spanish a plus.

Minimum Requirements

BA or BS Degree in Instructional Systems Design, Training/Curriculum Development, Communications, English, Education or related discipline, Film, Art, or equivalent professional experience. Prefer hospitality/ restaurant industry experience in Operations. Proficient in MS Office, Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline, video creation and editing, and various course authoring software. Must successfully clear a background and reference check process. Must successfully complete the 6-week MIT training program at a Habit Burger location prior to starting their position in the home office.
